Can't start typing a search term immediately after launch -- have to wait for it to load the main page before this big spinner gets out of your way.

Nexus 1, Android 2.3.6

Made a quick stab at a non-modal spinner (replacing the search icon): https://github.com/brion/Wikipedia/tree/spinner

Unfortunately Android's webkit doesn't seem to consistently support animated GIFs, so that may not be suitable -- it definitely doesn't animate in the emulator.

I suppose an animation loop iterating through a single PNG sprite or something should work though.

Anis, can you include a link to the commit that resolves this please? Thanks!
