Old thumbnails remain after replacing of a djvu-file.

For example:

 - This miniature was generated from the new version djvu-file: 
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/b6/Sbornik_zakonov_1938-1956.djvu/page277-500px-Sbornik_zakonov_1938-1956.djvu.jpg

 - This miniature was left from the old version djvu-file. (of cource, in another resolution):

You can also see thumbnails of the different versions of a file simultaneously on the "Commons".
