For example http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Help%3ASearching&action=historysubmit&diff=442525146&oldid=441040491 displays at the bottom of the page a "View (previous 20 | next 20) (20 | 50 | 100 | 250 | 500)" line with a "next 20" link linking to void result page http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Search&limit=20&offset=20&ns0=1&redirs=1&search=defect++incategory%3A%22Crystallographic+defects%22+

It seems related to https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3431 but I don't know if the answer is the same.
