Does anyone know how to implement an alphabetical index for one's own mediawiki like the one here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Quick_index
The answer was but a click away: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Quick_index has a link to a Perl script, or you could just click "edit this page" and copy the contents, which should work on any MediaWiki install. Note also that the versions in other languages (listed on the left of the page) use slightly different formats, so you might want to pick the one you like best. For future reference, please don't use the bug-tracker for information requests of this sort; the appropriate place for software-related questions is the mediawiki-l mailing list (see http://mail.wikipedia.org/mailman/listinfo/mediawiki-l), while things to do with a specific page on a specific wiki like this are fairly likely to be answered on the "discussion" tab of the page in question.
I tried copying the code but it doesn't seem to work. Whichever two letter prefix I click on, it always display a list of ALL of pages. Ideas?
