Simmilar bug: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9361 There was a german discussion going on: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Verbesserungsvorschl%C3%A4ge#Verbesserung_der_Suchoptionen_auf_Spezial:Gesch.C3.BCtzte_Seiten Aim is to see a list of the pages/articles that are protected for the longest time. The Solution for me seems to be interesting for all users, so a skin solution is not the right thing. The Problem is, that at the moment the protection dates are not in the APi but in the log. I would appretiate these filter and sorting options. Greetings
Is this actually an API bug, or is it a special page AND an api bug?
See also https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=19233 for the redirect filter (still unsolved)
(In reply to comment #1) > Is this actually an API bug, or is it a special page AND an api bug? Actually I'm not a technical person. So I don't know
The time of protection is stored as a logentry and a revision in the database. You cannot use one of the date efficiently at the moment. You have to find the log entry/revision of the last protection, maybe there is a reprotection or so on, not easy.
I think this is a duplicate of bug 9361. I'll add the request for sorting there, so this bug should either be closed or re-assigned to implement the same feature in api (and made dependent of the other one).
