The Language committee and the WMF Board have approved Wikipedia in Banjar. The details are below:

* Language code: mrj
* Site url: mrj.wikipedia.org
* Project name ("Wikipedia" in your language): Википеди
* Project namespace (usually the same as the project name): Википеди
* Project talk namespace: Википедим кӓнгӓшӹмӓш
* Project logo (135x135 PNG derivative from a decent SVG image): Wikipedia-logo-v2-mrj.png
* Default project timezone: MSK UTC+3 / MSD UTC+4
* Interwiki text: Мары йӹлмӹ

On Commons?

> * Interwiki text: Мары йӹлмӹ
Names.php says:
'mrj' => 'Кырык мары', # Hill Mari
Which one is correct?
Comment 2 амдф 2010-10-17 09:49:01 UTC
Yes, on Commons:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikipedia-logo-v2-mrj.png

Кырык мары means "Hill Mari",
Мары йӹлмӹ means "Mari language" (compare to Meadow Mari: "Марий йылме").

First variant is good when we need to clearly separate the language from Meadow Mari (mhr), second variant is a native language name.
Comment 3 Amir E. Aharoni 2010-10-17 11:30:42 UTC
The current interwiki string for Meadow Mari is "Олык Марий", which means "Meadow Mari", if i understand correctly.

If it's "Meadow Mari" for "Meadow Mari", shouldn't it be "Hill Mari" for "Hill Mari"?
Comment 4 амдф 2010-10-17 11:44:56 UTC
Native language name is better. "Hill Mari" and "Meadow Mari" are both exonyms, while Мары йӹлмӹ is endonym.
