Description Neill Mitchell 2010-07-12 08:11:45 UTC
HI.

Exhibit queries crash with an "Operation aborted" with IE7.

This problem occurs because a child container HTML element contains script that tries to modify the parent container element of the child container. The script tries to modify the parent container element by using either the innerHTML method or the appendChild method.

The Microsoft KB article on this seems pretty comprehensive http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927917/en-us

IE7 is still very widely used in corporate and government environments so not being able to use this browser is a real show stopper.

For the records, http://stats.wikimedia.org/wikimedia/squids/SquidReportClients.htm lists MSIE 7.0 around 4-5% nowadays.

I sponsored a replacement for Exhibit - SRF Filtered. So this can probably be closed now. Exhibit is completely dead on MW 1.17+ as is unlikely to be fixed.

Thanks Neill.

Exhibit hasn't worked in SRF 1.7 and it is not likely to work with SRF 1.8 either.
