Description Michael M. 2010-06-30 09:03:57 UTC
Simple search highlights as many characters as you have already typed, but this causes an incorrect highlighting when you use shortcuts (like WP: for Wikipedia:). For example, if you type "WP:A", "Wikipedia:Article development" is shown with highlighted "Wiki". Instead "Wikipedia:A" should be highlighted.
Comment 1 Roan Kattouw 2010-06-30 09:20:34 UTC
This touches on the general problem when the results don't match the prefix you've typed. We should come up with a different way of highlighting stuff in this case, or not highlight it at all.

Comment 4 Andre Klapper 2013-08-31 14:35:59 UTC
SimpleSearch issues => Moving to Vector (as per $wgVectorUseSimpleSearch)
Comment 5 Bartosz Dziewoński 2013-08-31 16:55:58 UTC
The whole mess is actually in core.
Comment 6 Bartosz Dziewoński 2013-08-31 17:01:15 UTC
The issue as described in comment 0 is not longer happening; the text is only highlighted if it actually matches the result (as per comment 1), and in this particular example simply nothing is highlighted.

Must have been fixed sometime in the past. Closing as WORKSFORME.
