Created attachment 7153 [details] preference title rendering bug screenshot I put a screenshot of the bug taken with MediaWiki 1.15.1. It can be reproduced with Wikipedia.
This is caused by some change using ids instead of name attributes for section headers, which causes the ==preferences== header to match the #preferences selector in monobook/main.css (presumably used for the main box on Special:Preferences). Even though this doesn't lead to ID conflicts, stuff like ==globalWrapper== and ==content== would also be problematic. Using IDs for headers verbatim like this is a big can of worms IMO. I think there's a bug about user-inserted IDs conflicting with header IDs as well, but I can't find it.
