When looking at revisions of a page, the text "←Older revision | Newer revision→" appears even on the first revision, with "Older" actually being a self-link. Perhaps "First revision | _Newer revision→_" ('_'s around links)? Also, it does not appear at all if you try to look at the revision that is the latest, so navigating backwards requires using the history function; perhaps a way of viewing the current revision as a historical view rather than 'page'?
(In reply to comment #0) The first issue is covered by bug 1122. Changing summary for the remaining request.
Resolving this fixed, as the remaining request is actually available in 1.5-cvs - since all revisions now have a permanent ID, navigating the history can indeed lead to a "revision as of" page showing the latest revision but with the navigation links (e.g. http://test.leuksman.com/index.php?title=HARBL&oldid=7458). Unfortunately, this leads to an even more confusing version of bug 1122, where the "newer revision" link leads to the same revision but without the notice and navigation links (I'll try and describe this better at that bug report).
