When the page http://translatewiki.net/wiki/Support has been altered from a normal talk page, huge amounts of lines have been added, cluttering up the screen with no-information and making thing very hard to read or to look through, being a nuisance to users I suggest to remove them. If someone insists in having them, make them selectable via her user preferences. See attached screen shot for an example of these useless lines wasting screen space.
Created attachment 6843 [details] screen shot showing screen clutter by unnecessary lines.
I love the lines. They help me keep track of a thread. They're awesome. I would suggest to add a preference that would allow users to read threads without hierarchy, as is seen in other forum software.
If I am to ditch the hierarchical post structure, I am more likely to do it for everyone. Do you object to the horizontal or to the vertical lines?
There are three kinds of superfluous horizontal lines which only waste space and cause unnecessary scrolling and make keeping track of context hard. The vertical lines are less disturbing, they hamper reading less. Only when appearing massively, I'd rather suggest, not to have them. Imho the former layout of the support page was better, where one could outdent according to ones own taste. In other words, I see no need for strictly threaded intentation, especially, when answers are most customarily to the last contributions anyways.
This is why I have changed LiquidThreads to a more linear structure. In new discussions, this issue should recede.
