For example

<math> a \& b </math>

Failed to parse (lexing error): a \& b 


" is also not recognized, but it is not clear that " could be useful in math formulas (while & certainly could).

Added \& in r68382, I've not added \":

 LaTeX Warning: Command \" invalid in math mode on input line 4.

! Please use \mathaccent for accents in math mode.
