It would be interesting to generate geolocation exif data for the static maps. As it looks like we'll be generating them with Python we'll need to find a python exif library we can use.

Other thoughts for the EXIF tag, are copyright and license info, and time of rendering or revision information. This will help the users of the static maps to trace the images back to the original source.

In light of this, bug 19791 might be of interest, where i basically propose a patch that does something similar for normal image thumbs.
