We need a centralized way to notify people about the creation of new wikis. For example, toolserver admins need to know to create view for the database, and CVN people need to know so the wiki can be added to monitoring systems. Currently the only way to track such things is to watch the individual bugs, which is of course imperfect. Probably this mailing list should be for announcements only - no discussion.
DaBPunkt> I'm sure that the wm-root use a kind of script for the wiki-creation. should notz be so hard to let it send an email to us That seems to be true, according to http://wikitech.wikimedia.org/view/Add_a_language
This would be extremely useful for a number of different groups (and just interested parties). Brion, can you comment on whether or not this is doable (or are you guys willing to do it?)?
Sorry I haven't followed up on this, but I think I understand the request better. This is a one-way list? Who would like to moderate it?
It doesn't really matter, I'm sure Mike, Alex, and I could help moderate. * mike.lifeguard at gmail dot com * az1568 at gmail dot com * listadmin at caseybrown dot org
Could we just spam the creation notices to Announce-l instead of a separate list?

(In reply to comment #6) > List newprojects created. > > <https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/admin/newprojects> Thanks, Cary. Now we just have to convince them to send emails to it; see bug 24398 :D
