Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description fir0002 2005-03-28 07:30:05 UTC
I think it'd be a great thing if Wikipedia could use the powerful and versatile
SWF format.
Perhaps using it like an [[Image:image.jpg]] would be the way to do it, because
then you could easily show a thumbnail and than move to a larger version
(infinetly larger if drawings are done as vectors).

Anyway, hope to see this feature replace animated gifs (much inferior)

Thanks for your great work.

I have created a flash extension. It is still in development but it looks pretty
good. Not ready for implementation yet though.

That's fantastic, thanks!

Given that this is not a fully open format this is not likely to be supported.
