I noticed that the new Timezone setting does not work for the _global_ account (for users with unified login).

It's clear from http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Unified_login#What_it_doesn.27t_change that personal preferences are currently still local. 

However, I regard a global Timezone setting for unified user account as very useful and therefore propose to add the functionality: make Timezone settings a global preference for unified accounts.

This bug is probably going to be marked as a dupe of 16827. It is not very useful to keep N "make preference Y global" bug reports, when we do not have the facilities to make anything global.
