[[Special:Makebot]] states that users don't have bot status when according to [[Special:Listusers]] and [[Special:Userrights]] they do. It's also possible to grant bot status twice, see http://nl.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&page=User:Blokpop.

Makebot is a deprecated extension and is likely to be removed from the Wikimedia sites in the foreseeable future. Use UserRights instead.
