Hi!

Please create the Saterland Frisian Wikipedia ([[Requests for new languages/Wikipedia Saterland Frisian]]) with the following configuration, per approval by the language subcommittee:
* subdomain, XML lang code and interwiki link prefix 'stq'
* enable [[Special:Import]] between stqwiki and incubatorwiki
* name of Wikipedia: Wikipedia
* Wikipedia talk namespace: Wikipedia Diskussion

I would also like to point to bug 12181 and bug 12399, and also have a personal request related to that.

I realise that it is much easier to add several wikis at the same time, and that it saves very much time. However, it is a quite discouraging for the people who have worked very hard to get these projects approved to have to wait for a long time before it is actually created. So my proposal is that we find a middle-way of sorts - that you create new wikis one time each month, regardless of how many wikis are to be created (be it 1 or 10), so that people will not have to wait more than one month from approval to creation. Does that seem acceptable?

Wouldn't it be even better to get more voluteers for this specific task? I would expect that everyone with basic knowledge of the components of a LAMP platform should be able to acquire the necessary skills within some time.

Maybe, there should be a finer-grained hierachy of permissions/tasks, including something like a "developer lite" group, which has exactly circumscribed responsibilies, including the creation of new wikis.

I have no idea how much effort the creation of a new wiki takes. I am surprised that it hasn't been fully automated yet, as the basic steps can be expected to be identical each time, just a few variables change. I am so surprised, that this isn't managed by a couple of scripts yet.

I suggest suggesting this on Wikitech-l instead; not very many people will read this request page.
