When trying to get an email verification code from Special:Confirmemail :

Catchable fatal error: Object of class PEAR_Error could not be converted to string in \includes\GlobalFunctions.php on line 501

I'm using:
* MediaWiki: 1.12alpha (r28272)
* PHP: 5.2.1 (apache2handler)
* MySQL: 5.0.37 

on Windows server with SMTP

I can't seem to replicate this in current trunk, nor can I seem to find the problem in the r28272 (which is now the 1.12 branch and no longer maintained). Going to call this fixed, as I think it might be related to the cleanup done in r30896.
