Description spiritia 2007-11-11 20:21:01 UTC
(This is my first report here, excuse me if I messed smth up or haven't chosen the right place... this actually is not a bug, just an idea of a new feature...)

I would suggest that when new (2nd, 3rd,...) versions of an image file have been uploaded, in the File history apart of columns "Date/Time", "User", "Dimensions", "File size" and "Comment", a new column be added showing thumbnails of the previously uploaded images. Text descriptions, if any, rarely help in getting idea of the previous image(s), and when needed now, reverting is like shooting in the blind :-)

Regards!

This would require adding new infrastructure for generating and maintaining thumbnails of old versions. (The alternative being to load verrrrrry large pictures in their entirety... frequently... :D

Not impossible, but I'll take it out of the 'easy' keyword category. :)

This seems to have been implemented, but it does not work properly in the English Wikipedia (it does work correctly on Commons). Will make a new bug report for that.
