Description Rémi Kaupp 2007-10-10 16:12:59 UTC
A feature often asked for (see bug 474) is the ability to export pages as PDF files. This has recently been asked for again on the french wikipedia. Now, the PDF Export extension (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Pdf_Export) is said to be in a "stable" version, so maybe it could be installed for WMF wikis ? Thanks.

Why don't you use a PDF printer driver for your browser? There are free ones for most OS'es.

PDF Export may be stable, but its output is of a somewhat limited quality. See http://krefeldwiki.de/w/index.php5?title=Spezial:PdfPrint&page=Krefeld in comarison to http://krefeldwiki.de/wiki/Krefeld

http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikipedia-l/2007-October/030215.html is also another interesting approach for the reporter to consider.

That list message refers to http://tools.wikimedia.de/~magnus/pdf.php?title=Horse-ripping|Zoosadism , but sadly that URL only produces a 404 "Not Found" message "The requested URL /~magnus/pdf.php was not found on this server." I hope that's just a hiccup on the toolserver.
