Test file

I am unable to upload any image files in my wiki, not matter what file type (jpg, png, tiff), size or variation in images uploaded or even in the filename.

The error message received after submitting the 'upload file' page is: "The file you uploaded seems to be empty. This might be due to a typo in the file name. Please check whether you really want to upload this file."

I'm at my wits end trying to figure out what the problem is. there are no spaces or special characters in any of the images I try to upload. Each image opens in Photoshop with no problem. Is this a bug or is there a setting I should check?

Thank you,

Carla

This would most likely be due to an unusual or damaged configuration on the server. For instance:

* Very small maximums for file upload allowance in php.ini
* PHP temporary uploads going to a directory which is unwritable, full, or nonexistent?
* Permissions problems with upload temporary directory
* "Safe mode" or other filesystem access restrictions in php.ini breaking the upload process

Check in particular these settings in php.ini or output of a 'phpinfo()' script:
file_uploads
upload_max_filesize
upload_tmp_dir

If upload_tmp_dir is empty, the system temp directory will likely be used.

Closing "support bug" due to lack of response; if the problem persists, please consider taking it up on the mediawiki-l mailing list.
