Description Meno25 2007-03-17 09:14:14 UTC
When protecting a page in the Arabic Wikipedia, the administrators can't set
edit parameter and move parameter separately but both must be the same which is
not the case in the English Wikipedia. (For example Talk:Main Page in the
English Wikipedia is protected against moves only [move=sysop] but not against
editing but in the Arabic Wikipedia the two parameters must be the same, for
example: [edit=sysop:move=sysop].) I know this because I am a former
administrator in the Arabic Wikipedia. I am not saying that this is a bug but I
thought that the developers should know this. Thank you.

Does the "unlock move permissions" check box appear? Is it usable?
Comment 2 Brion Vibber 2007-03-21 21:12:24 UTC
I can confirm that the check box does appear and does work correctly on
ar.wikipedia.org.
Tested in Firefox 2.0 on Mac OS X 10.4 and IE 7 on Windows XP SP 2.

(Note that if JavaScript is disabled, the checkbox does not appear, and both
columns must always be set independently. The checkbox and the locked mode only
appears when JavaScript is enabled.)

There is one issue, though, which is the positioning of the checkbox. In Arabic
it appears below the lefthand column, instead of being properly aligned along
the right edge. It's probably easy to miss if you're not looking for it.
