Hallo! Few people have noticed that watched pages disapear from their watchlist. If you look at [[special:Watchlist/edit]] you will find *only* blue links. All deleted pages disapeared. If you participate in a wiki where "deletionist" sysops predominate many "surprises" are waiting you. I know that [[special:Watchlist/edit]] did contain a lot of ofensive titles in the past. I respect the wish of ofended people that these title should disapear from the database. But I assume that not all contributors agree not being able to see the "other" deleted pages. ---- Another surprise migth be if you look for an article you created earlier. The original title was 'Misionarism in Burma in the 19th century'. The actual titel might be renamed and refer to [[Myanmar]]. These are two different issues. However the "watchlist" will become useless to a certain degree. Would it make sense that contributors maintain their own watchlist in the user namespace? Now that Bug 759: Distinguish redirects on the watchlist editing page is fixed it should be possible to show both the old and the new pagename in the watchlist after a "move". *request* a) Do not delete items from the watchlist if pages are deleted. Exception are ofending titles which are deleted from the database as well. b) Display the old and the new pagename in the watchlist if a page is moved. Thanks in advance! best regards reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
Isn't this a duplicate of Bug 881?
Issue a) is indeed a duplicate of bug 881. However issue b) is not exactly the same. Thanks Melancholie for remembering on bug 881. ;-)
