Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description Jamie Hari 2005-12-19 20:27:48 UTC
It seems that if you create an article with the full stop character at the end
of the name, when you click to edit the page it directs you to edit the page
without the full stop.

Example:

Article Name: "This is a sentence."
Click Edit and you will be editing: "This is a sentence"

If you want to edit the article with the period at the end, you must click edit,
be taken to:
http://www.example.com/wiki/index.php?title=This_is_sentence&action=edit

then you must manually add the period and reload the page:

http://www.example.com/wiki/index.php?title=This_is_sentence.&action=edit

Honestly, it is in poor form to put a period at the end of an article name
anyways, but there will always be people that do...

We should probably block the period character from titles. I can't think of a
good reason to allow it, for starters...
