When attempting to restore [[w:User:Kingslades]], I receive the following error: "Undelete failed; someone else may have undeleted the page first.

"
The workaround is to tick "Remove restrictions on restored revisions".
[[User:Kingslades]] has been suppressed. I believe that the problem is that I tried to undelete a page which had a suppressed revision. (Namely this one by Philippe: https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/w/index.php?title=Special:RevisionDelete&target=User%3AKingslades&type=archive&ids=20110417161852 )
Do you have a proposed solution? The underlying behavior here (requiring confirmation before restoring suppressed revisions) seems intentional and somewhat expected. The

thing looks like some hackery that I may have had something to do with (an attempt to kill a MediaWiki message). It's possible that the default message needs to be a bit more explicit about what's needed in order to restore a page that has suppressed revisions (namely checking the little box)? (It's also possible that the default message is fine and that the English Wikipedia has overridden the defaults with poor substitutes.)
(In reply to comment #3) >.. > The

thing looks like some hackery that I may have had something to do > with (an attempt to kill a MediaWiki message). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Village_pump_%28technical%29/Archive_39#Special:Undelete_text I have deleted [[MediaWiki:Undeleterevdel]], which is probably sufficient for this bug to be considered fixed. > Do you have a proposed solution? The default error message [[MediaWiki:Cannotundelete]] is still "wrong", or being wrongly used in this instance, as "someone else may have undeleted the page first" is not applicable.
Bug 39299 is very similar.
