Description lɛʁi לערי ריינהארט 2005-06-10 13:33:11 UTC
Hi!

This is probably a setup / configuration issue. Please help.

Best regards Reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]

status: "iirc the link icons are disabled explicitly for rtl because they don't
work"

This is an answer to a previous question:
Why does the "user icon" does not show at [[yi:]]?
- It does not show up at [[ar:]], [[he:]] and other RTL wiki's either.

Can this report be explained better?

The sample page shows external links with class='external' ok for me.

If this report is about the link icons with the shipped Monobook settings,
please note that while the icons are specified in main.css (via css3 for latest
browsers), the rtl.css stylesheet overrides them where the class is 'external'.
One side-effect of this is when viewing the sample page with Firefox and the
Linkification extension, the "nowiki" external link has the icon, as the
extension does not add the 'external' class with the generated link markup.

Hallo Zigger!

I am using mainly
# Firefox: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8)
Gecko/20050511 Firefox/1.0.4
with the Monobook skin and user language same as content language.

I could test also other skins or
# IE: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)
# Netscape: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.2)
Gecko/20040804 Netscape/7.2 (ax)
but I did not test so far.

See a screen dump at
http://test.leuksman.com/index.php/Image:Bugzilla_2371_01.jpg

Sorry but I was not involved in Monobook issues before.
Would be happy to know more about impacts of
"iirc the link icons are disabled explicitly for rtl because they don't work"
If you think so please change the summary or make a tracking bug with about this.
Thanks in advance!
