http://prototype.wikimedia.org configuration for images point to a wrong url.

Could you be more specific as to what's wrong?

For example, the image of the main page point to http://prototype.wikimedia.org/wiki/images/thumb/SSEM_Replica.jpg/100px-SSEM_Replica.jpg the image is at http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/88/SSEM_Replica.jpg/100px-SSEM_Replica.jpg

$wgUploadPath = "http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en";
$wgSharedUploadPath = "http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons"; 

is probably enough, although prototype settings are a bit odd.

Is this still required? It seems like prototype isn't used as much anymore - replaced with wmflabs?

Marking WONTFIX -- all of this is going away (bug 41433). If there's similar problems with beta labs, file a bug in Wikimedia Labs as appropriate.
