I wrote a little addon that will let you hide your own edits from recentchanges. I don't know much about the process of posting here, but I thought this might be userfull to some people and a nice addition to the mediawiki softward.

This bug is very much related to bug 190 Hide your own edits on the [[Special:Watchlist]] which is handeled in CVS. It would be nice if both would come together soon. Regards Reinhardt
Can these patches be supplied in unified diff format (diff -u / cvs diff -u) against CVS or the latest 1.5 release? And can the same change be done for SpecialRecentchangeslinked.php?

On [[Special:Watchlist]] this is already possible by adding &hideOwn=1 to the URL. It is true, that for [[Special:Recentchanges]] the same feature would be very helpful, too. Best regards, Melancholie
This has been FIXED. It works life (at WMF wikies). See Bug 5009: Update 'showhideminor' in Messages.php Not shure about what to insert in "Version".
