Description Danny B. 2007-07-31 14:24:41 UTC
Please set wikibugs to be able to join multiple channels.

Thank you.

Before we go looking into this, which channels would we want it in? Personally I'd be a bit annoyed to have to go running around to multiple channels every time something pops up.
Comment 2 Brion Vibber 2008-12-15 22:52:05 UTC
Per suggestion: #mediawiki-bugs
Comment 3 Antoine "hashar" Musso (WMF) 2012-05-21 15:20:26 UTC
I am closing this bug reporting for which we had no interest other the last 5 years.

I have sent some commits (r115408, r115410) to have wikibugs to write to multiple files to split messages per product. It can easily be enhanced from there to add a catchall if that is one day really needed.
Comment 4 Danny B. 2012-07-01 02:30:52 UTC
The deal was to have wikibugs-speaking only channel which could be easily followed by any other bots etc.

There was also potential suggestion to have all notifying bots to write on one channel apart from human-speaking channels such as #mediawiki or #wikimedia-tech since nowadays is hard to follow human communication on them.

According to https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/54984 , this is solved in the new code for wikibugs (not yet deployed).
Comment 6 Merlijn van Deen (test) 2014-04-22 20:17:03 UTC
Fixed in pywikibugs. Please file a pull request (in the near future: gerrit patch) https://github.com/valhallasw/pywikibugs for any further channels.
