Description ChemicalBit 2007-04-25 17:57:12 UTC
Configuring a set of working together wikis to use a shared user table

$wgSharedDB (see http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:%24wgSharedDB ) can state
the database name

but can not state the table prefix (table prefix as $wgDBprefix , see
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:%24wgDBprefix ) of the the (MySQL) shared
user table.

If I have understood http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:%24wgSharedDBright,
all the wikis need to use the same table prefix (or no table prefix)

but one can not get that, if he/she is making up a set of wikis using a single
(MySQL) database, just using table prefix to divide eache wiki's tables (and
maybe other applications)

In such circumstances, shared user table can not work.

I asked for workaround in IRC #mediawiki, some weeks ago, but it was not possible.
