Description Meno25 2007-04-21 09:51:40 UTC
When an IP tries to edit Main Page, the white background is displayed instead
of the usual grey background. However, IPs can't edit the page. Noticed only
after the recent MediaWiki upgrade. Tested using Firefox 2 and IE7 under Win
XP. MediaWiki version when testing: 1.10alpha (r21409).

Firefox seems to be the only browser on my computer that makes uneditable text
boxes have gray or brown backgrounds. I don't notice this behavior in Opera or
IE at all. Is this something we do? It looks like browser behavior to me.
Comment 2 Meno25 2007-04-22 06:23:38 UTC
I retested it with a different computer. The results are different. The white
background is there when using IE6 (Win XP No SP2). The gray background is there
when using Firefox 2 (Win XP No SP2).
Comment 3 Brion Vibber 2007-04-25 21:04:06 UTC
This is browser-dependent behavior.
