We at Urdu Wikipedia have done alot of hard work in translating System messages [http://ur.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D8%AE%D8%A7%D8%B5:Allmessages] If possible please copy these messages to (if there are minor problem, they could be resolved manualy later) http://ur.wiktionary.org/ http://ur.wikiquote.org http://ur.wikibooks.org
Better would be to add these to the software's default language package. This will propagate to all WMF Urdu projects automatically, along with any non-WMF Urdu projects using MediaWiki. In the future, it would be most helpful if you'd post new translations here as patches; see [[m:MediaWiki localization]] for info on how to do this. To commit your Urdu messages, someone will have to convert them to that format first, which will probably take some time. Ideally you should be willing to install a copy of MediaWiki on your computer so you can test your patches yourself, but possibly someone will be willing to do it for you. Please note that the translators must specifically agree to release their changes under the GNU GPL, which is similar to but distinct from the GFDL that they've already agreed to release their changes under. (See also [[m:Localization statistics]]. No Urdu messages at all are currently translated in the software, unfortunately.) I'll leave this as shell too, so that the pages can be migrated even if the internationalization stuff is delayed or whatnot. But it would be nice if changes were made to the language files, not just to the wikis.
But remember that not all translations on wikipedia sites are usefull for MediaWiki which is alos used in non wikipedia environments.
