Description Prateek Saxena 2014-09-24 21:45:17 UTC
- we should kill those non standard play/fast forward icons and make them me.ui neutral.
- checkboxes are unstyled
Comment 1 Jon 2014-09-30 20:21:38 UTC
would we want to use mw-ui-icon to associate icons with them still?
Comment 2 Jared Zimmerman (WMF) 2014-09-30 20:26:54 UTC
I don't think its necessary to have icons on the pagination controls.
Comment 3 Matthew Flaschen 2014-10-02 05:09:44 UTC
I think the play/fast-forward icons are actually a pretty good metaphor for this page.

I'm not stuck on those icons, but four identical (other than the text) neutral buttons (with no icons) might be a little less usable.
Comment 4 Matthew Flaschen 2014-10-02 05:12:49 UTC
Other sites do use icons for paging. Gmail uses < > icons with text tooltips, at least with the view I'm on. But I'm sure some sites show both text and icon right away.
Comment 5 Jared Zimmerman (WMF) 2014-10-02 16:55:43 UTC
I wouldn't be opposed to using the button style which has icon in it, but I don't think that control is ready yet. I'd suggest we use the standard size for now and log a bug to use the style with icons when it is ready…sound reasonable?

Do you mean a button with both icon and text, or a button with just an icon?

The former is ready and safe to use (older browsers will only see text, which is fine). The second is not safe to use.

icon+text
