Hi Saqib. For any configuration change, we require a local consensus. Could you discuss the matter on the wiki to confirm that this change is wanted by the community, and paste the link to the discussion here?

first of all, sorry, we need a Dynamic page list extension. actually we need an extension which can display most popular articles on our wiki..
i found Extension:Dynamic Article List or Extension:TopTenPages can be what we're looking for but i am not sure..

The popular page aspect of dpl isnt compatible with wikimedia. Get someone with a bot to go yhrough the squid stats (e.g. like [[n:template:Popular aticles]]

Kalper, I'm doing a research and writing a report for our upcoming Wikimania. can't we have Dynamic page list  extension without a consensus?

No.

Also DPL will not give you a list of most popular pages if it is a Wikimedia wiki so it wouldn't even help you. http://stats.grok.se/en.voy/top might help you, but its from April 2013. That website also has more recent data for specific pages, such as http://stats.grok.se/en.voy/latest90/Main_Page - just be careful, some of the search boxes redirect to en.wikipedia stats. Make sure en.voy is in the url, not plain en.

i am not talking about popular pages now. actually i need to generate list of articles fall under some particular categories. I want to check the geographical coverage of WV articles in good status.

You still need community consensus to get an extension enabled. If you urgently need to do something like that, get someone with tool labs/toolserver access to do it for you *or* use the incategory: feature of the search bar (See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:CirrusSearch#Filters_.28intitle:.2C_and_incategory:.29 for details), or try to convince whomever maintains https://toolserver.org/~daniel/WikiSense/CategoryIntersect.php to add wikivoyage to it.
