Description Addshore 2013-08-19 08:48:18 UTC
This would provide a simple way to merge two items in wikidata, this is a task which is currently carried out by a gadget and having an api module to do this would make things much simpler!

Standard parameters would include:
* Fromid - Item we are merging from (This will likely be empty after the merge)
* Toid - Item we are merging to (This will remain after the merge)

Various other options would be available:
* Optional cases not to merge with and provide a warning instead (such as if labels exists in a language on both items, etc.)
* Option to merge everything that is possible leaving anything that could not be merged in the original item.
* Admins can optionally delete the empty item after a merge with an appropriate summary
* Merge into item with lowest id (bool)
