Details

Description Mahitgar 2013-07-15 11:06:48 UTC
Hi,

a: Currently language list displayed below MediaWiki:Visualeditor-dialog-meta-languages-readonlynote/mr does not open the respective language wiki but when that is possible along with that respective language item ULS should offer option to open up the respective language wiki with related display and/or input .May be this shall need to mingle three extensions VE,wikidata,ULS and also

b When in menubar languages displayed by wikidata if curser hover over any wiki language name options as requested in 4a should display and available. (Whether this needs to split as a separate bug ?)

*To understand further the need for above request, please do refer to survey
data and analysis provided at

Please provide a screenshot of the current problem that you would like to
solve, plus a link to a wikipage where the problem can be seen.
Furthermore, please only file one problem per report.
Also see https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/How_to_report_a_bug

Request for Wikidata interwiki wikis to open with respective language ULS display and input

Please provide exact and clear steps (click by click, as a numbered list) so anybody else could reproduce the problem, plus the expected and the actual outcome. I still don't know which page you are on, etc.
See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/How_to_report_a_bug for general info.
Comment 4 Andre Klapper 2013-07-17 15:44:24 UTC
...and please provide a bug summary that describes the actual feature request.
Comment 5 Mahitgar 2013-07-17 17:02:34 UTC
I have split point b in a separate bug 51431.

*In VisualEditor - Toolbar -Page settings - language Section shows languages heading with following message
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Visualeditor-dialog-meta-languages-section

*Below this message VisualEditor - Toolbar -Page settings - language Section reproduces the same list of interwiki languages that I provided by Wiki data.

*Currently these language links are not parsed.

*This bug expects the same feature that is expected in bug 51431 but in context of Visual Editor toolbar -page settings languages

Not sure what you want to "parse" here, plus parsed by who?
However, is this a duplicate of bug 52383 maybe?

Please also update the bug summary to be descriptive. Thanks!

::No not at all,if I have read bug 52383 correctly,it is asking to scrap certain feature made avaialable by VE by some frustrated user.Unless you are ready to scrap parts of VE design in that sense it is not an enhancement bug at all and most likely bug 52383 need to be wont fix

* This bug 51355 assumes that any way you will be completeing the bug 52105. This bug is an enhancement over bug 52105 (So parsing job is happening at bug 52105) and also expects bug 51431 enhancement also too take place.
::In other words this bug 51355 wants to mount bug 51431 enhancement over bug 52105 enhancement.
