Description Jan Luca 2013-06-11 18:37:26 UTC
Hi,

please add the Extension:YetAnotherKeywords to de.wikiversity.

You can find the local discussion (in German) here: https://de.wikiversity.org/wiki/Wikiversity:Cafeteria#Wikiversity_an_Edutags_anbinden:_Extension:YetAnotherKeywords_installieren

Best regards,
Jan

YetAnotherKeywords is not yet deployed on any WMF wikis, so this requires a review first (we talk about 60 lines of code here, hosted on Github).
Hence adding dependency to bug 31235.

More info on localization ( http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:YetAnotherKeywords says "No localisation updates are provided by translatewiki.net.") would also be great.

Please see the http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Writing_an_extension_for_deployment page for tips on how to make the extension ready for WMF wiki deployment.

In particular, to get the code reviewed (for security/performance concerns), the code needs to be in Gerrit (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Gerrit). The extension author would be the person who would most likely be able to respond to any concerns brought up from these reviews.

I have send a mail to the extension author.
Comment 4 db [inactive,noenotif] 2013-06-12 18:24:42 UTC
This kind of keywords was removed from mediawiki with Gerrit change #67606 some days ago.
Comment 5 Greg Grossmeier 2013-06-12 19:24:04 UTC
Thanks for the heads up, db.

Per that commit, I am closing this bug as wontfix, as the extension won't do anything anyways.

Adding Daniel (commiter of that change) to this bug just in case others have questions.
Comment 6 Jan Luca 2013-06-13 07:28:52 UTC
Gerrit change #67606 has removed OutputPage::addKeywords but YetAnotherKeywords uses OutputPage::addMeta( 'keywords', ... ) to insert the tags so I see no reason to close the bug.

Hello, guys. I am extention author. I'll look through the problem soon (~ up to 30 june).

Ping?

Hello! Thanks for ping! Still no time to look it up... May be next week...
Comment 10 Jehy 2013-09-06 09:45:23 UTC
Oh, okay. So there is no bug, extension works, and you just want it to be on Gerrit.

I sent request for Gerrit repository
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Git/New_repositories/Requests
So it should be there soon.

By the way, nowadays extension really doesn't make much sense - no search robots care about keywords meta tag.

Jan Luca: So is Extension:YetAnotherKeywords still wanted on de.wikiversity? If so, what's the usecase?
