More a notification and noting than a major concern as it relates to stewards applying rights from meta, and local application of rights at approximately as same time. I self-applied a set of rights for mediawiki.org from meta (add CU). During the time of advanced rights a local bureaucrat at mw.org gave me admin rights for that wiki. I again amended my rights at mw.org; and meta's knowledge of the rights was unaware of the change of rights that had been applied locally, so overrode the new rights set.
So if I understand correctly, this happened: * Added right from meta. * Added right locally. * Unspecified rights change locally * Meta unaware of local rights changes. * Implied unspecified rights change from meta which overwrote local changes. You *did* refresh the user rights page on meta after the local rights were added, right?
Not exactluy * Right added from meta (self) * Right added at local wiki (by another) * Right added from meta (self) (overwriting locally applied right — meta unaware of right change) [aware of issue, lodge bugzilla] * [refreshed rights at meta] * Rights removed from meta (all is fine) No I did not refresh rights at meta. Why would I? Not expecting them.
(In reply to comment #2) > * Right added at local wiki (by another) > * Right added from meta (self) (overwriting locally applied right — meta > unaware of right change) [aware of issue, lodge bugzilla] This is basically bug 38989 but cross-wiki. It's the same issue though. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 38989 ***
