Special:Whatlinkshere should allow the user to select which namespace to select. For instance, on the French Wikipedia, it would allow to trace back references to pages in [Reference:] namespace, while ignoring user pages or meta pages which link there too.

cool, a drop-down menu to select namespaces would be ideal, checkboxes, like the ones used for [[Special:Search]] would be even sweeter, but not critical. ~~~~

I wanted to request this functionality too. It would be particularly useful to be able to limit to just the Main namespace on Wikipedia when taking an article from the {{Opentasks}} template, since hundreds of users will link to the page; also when doing disambiguation link repair.

Just to inform everyone waiting on this that Interiot has a tool (http://tools.wikimedia.de/~interiot/cgi-bin/queries/whatlinkshere) that can order What Links Here entries according to namespace. Oh, and apologies for the duplicate entry.
That does not help non-users of Wikimedia web sites, hence the reason this request is filed against MediaWiki.

Reply to #6: The tool doesn't work, at least not for the three dab pages I've adopted. For all three ("Swedish," "Norwegian" and "Ting," for the curious), the tool returns "Sorry, no results found." All three have at least ten inbound links. :-( (Too bad, because that would have been extremely useful for me. Created attachment 3227 [details] pach for Special:Whatlinkshere can select namespace I made a patch for SpecialWhatlinkshere to eneble select namespaces. It also fixes page $limit bug (now you can back to correct previous/next page)

Created attachment 3236 [details] fixd version of before one I re-maked a patch which has no-change about LIMIT thing. (which JuLuF points me.) It only add namespace select form and a bit SELECT , and a change about related links.

A drop down menu is not deal. The best is you can choose as many namespaces you want imho.
it would also be nice if redirects where not ignored on namespace selection. example: all links to "WP:SGW" in [http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Spezial:Linkliste/Wikipedia:Schiedsgericht/Wahl&limit=500&from=0] are ignored with an activated filter [http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?offset=&limit=500&target=Wikipedia%3ASchiedsgericht%2FWahl&title=Spezial%3ALinkliste&namespace=3]
^ that should be added and dealt with as another bug.
