Filing as a bug per http://translatewiki.net/wiki/Thread:Support/MediaWiki:Centralauth-days-ago/tet : It would be good to have a possibility to use the PLURAL function in such a way that more forms than just singular and plural could be given. For example, in the message in question, I would need something like: {{PLURAL:$1|<the word for "one day ago">|<the word for "two days ago">|<the word for "three days ago">|<the word for the regular forms, "$1 days ago">}}
Could perhaps extend the syntax to take keys like 1=foo|0=daa
Moving to core, this cannot be implemented in Translate.
This has already been implemented in part, see also http://laxstrom.name/blag/2012/10/29/muir-woods-has-one-tree-plural-issues-in-mediawiki/ MF-Warburg, what do you feel is still (most) needed?
Well, in case that this http://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=MediaWiki:Centralauth-days-ago/tet&action=edit works, I would guess this is solved.
It indeed works; so I'm marking this as resolved.
