A-440 is the contemporary standard metronome setting 
in music (typ. the tempered scale).

But it doesn't/can't search properly.

This needs more information. [[A-440]] does not currently exist on en, so
there's no wonder the search doesn't return it. If you were referring to a
different Wikipedia, please say so. As an example, [[I-440]] exists on en, and
the search returns it just fine.
