<^demon|away> If you're not using appropriate caching, MediaWiki has gotten progressively worse w.r.t performance.
<^demon|away> Especially over the past 2-3 releases.
<johnduhart> We should probably stress during install that a proper caching setup is important
<johnduhart> "Go ahead and install APC or memcached, we'll wait"
<^demon|away> Any production php app without APC is shooting yourself in the foot.
