I would like to request that the count for legitimate content pages include
custom name spaces, currently it only checks if you have a '[[' in the content,
its in the main namespace and is not a redirect,  I think there should be an
option to include custom namespaces in that count.

Use $wgContentNamespaces, available as of MediaWiki 1.7.
