Description Mike Valstar 2005-08-13 21:48:53 UTC
the PECL module fileinfo is not listed as needed for uploading files in the
UPGRADE / README / INSTALL files, took me a while to figure it out, until i got
it installed i kept getting errors about file mimetypes and such, turning on
$wgMimeDetectorCommand= "file -bi"; worked but was not the default, if the
default is to use the PECL module it should be listed on documentation..

perhaps this should be detected on the install procedure?
Comment 1 Brion Vibber 2005-08-13 21:53:01 UTC
It's not required/needed, it's optional.
Comment 2 Mike Valstar 2005-08-13 22:08:22 UTC
i could not upload anything to the wiki without it being installed, i was
receiving and error "invalid extention"
Comment 3 Mike Valstar 2005-08-13 22:08:50 UTC
well until i added $wgMimeDetectorCommand= "file -bi"; anyway
