As per summary
Redirect everything to the start page, or redirect http://pt.wikimedia.org/wiki/SOMETHING to http://wikimedia.pt/SOMETHING ? Or redirect everything to a "Sorry, we changed our URL structure, this is our search form"-page?
CCing Waldir and Nuno so they can hopefully answer JeLuF's question above.
Thanks, Casey. The second option (olddomain/X → newdomain/X) would be ideal. This won't matter as much if we are able to have the pt:chapter: interwiki prefix in the Wikimedia sites point to wikimedia.pt. I'm not sue if that's acceptable, but even if it is, the second option would still be worth it, because we have links in our mailing list archives pointing to the old wiki. Are there any problems with that approach?
Done. # pt.wikimedia.org got moved to wikimedia.pt RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} pt.wikimedia.org RewriteRule ^/wiki/(.*)$ http://wikimedia.pt/$1 [R=301,L] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} pt.wikimedia.org RewriteRule ^/(.*)$ http://wikimedia.pt/ [R=301,L]
