Description WiseSabre 2005-08-01 17:21:50 UTC

Comment 1 lɛʁi לערי ריינהארט 2005-08-02 11:49:09 UTC
Hallo WiseSabre!

BiDi - bidirectional = usage of mixed RTL and LTR characters - is quite tricky.
Many browser bugs are related to this.

Please provide an example of *what you want to do* at a talk page or user page.
This would make it more easy to understand if it is a problem or just a coding
issue - a "how to" / a "just have to know".

Please provide at the same page a list of all involved templates and their
parameters.

Please make the description in English and use <div dir="ltr" > ... </div> and /
or <span dir="ltr" > ... </span> whereever appropriate. Thanks in advance!

Best regards Reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]

Hallo WiseSabre!

Please make the examples at [[ur:User:Gangleri/tests/Infobox_Governor]].

Please note that templates regardless if in an LTR, RTL or BiDi environment
would not show the *final* content before *the last* parameter is specified.

What I want to say is that *in general* it is not trivial to forsee how a
template (especially nested templates) will render.

Looks ok to me, at least as far as I can tell, in Firefox 1.5rc1 on Mac OS X 10.4.3.

If this is still a problem, please provide additional details.
Comment 4 WiseSabre 2005-11-05 10:01:35 UTC
the problems with table seems to b solved, but im having another type of problem
"Lists" are not appearing at there proper place ->[[ur:User:سیف اللہ]]

text is not properly rendered in textbox (text appears broken ,in IE and FF both)

This is bug 2020:
Bug 2020: BiDi related issues to ";", ":", "#", and "*", monobook skin etc.

Please compare [[ur:MediaWiki:Monobook.css]] with other RTL equivalents as
[[ar:MediaWiki:Monobook.css]], [[he:MediaWiki:Monobook.css]] and
[[yi:MediaWiki:Monobook.css]].

best regards reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
