Description Martijn Hoekstra 2011-03-05 13:18:39 UTC
We have a tag for bot edits, and for minor edits, but we don't have a field for semi-automated edits. I would like to request a field for that (and a filter, so that one can look at all non-automated edits).

The rationale behind this, is that often people come up for RfA on en.wiki who have a large number of semi-automated edits. It would be nice if it were possible to have a look at only the non-automated contributions. When there are a lot of semi-automated edits this can be like looking for a needle in a heystack. With a flag for semi-automated edits this would be much easier.

I'm really not seeing the use in this, if "RfA at enwiki" is the main rationale.

I do think that this might end up appearing anyway — if we were to move towards OAuth.

I don't see a real usecase for this either. Either it's a bot edit or it's not. Suggest WONTFIX.

TBH, a lot of the semi-automated tools should mark their edits as bot anyway...
