I see the link's class is styled in css with "cursr:pointer", but it's not working in my machine. Below are the details: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.6) Gecko/20100628 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Firefox/3.6.6
*** Bug 26008 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Not working on Firefox / Mac too. I'm not quite sure why this isn't working. SOLUTION 1) either investigate why this doesn't work 2) Add a jQuery solution
Firefox 3.6 specific. Works in 4.0
As far as I can tell, the problem is that Firefox 3.6 doesn't allow _any_ styling of file-type inputs. I'm afraid we're stuck with this, because the only way to get into a file selection box is to have the user click that box. Unless someone else can come up with a way (I've tried setting the property repeatedly, using a label with cursor:pointer, and opening the file input with javascript), I'm going to close this as "impossible to fix". Sadly, there is no option for that in Bugzilla. WF will have to do.
I suppose it's no big deal anyway, since FF4+ handles this correctly. Just a minor comment though: how about WORKSFORME? WONTFIX is technically correct but implies a conscious choice rather than a hands-tied situation. I know, it's sorta irrelevant, but since you raised the issue of the inadequacy of the WF resolution anyway... :)
Waldir, thanks for being a good sport about it. WFM implies that I can't reproduce the bug, which I can--it's just that this is a bug in Firefox 3.6, which is sort of never going to get fixed at this point. I guess INVALID is technically a better way to put it, since this isn't a bug in UW. See http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/page.cgi?id=fields.html
