Description yonidebest 2009-10-09 19:44:43 UTC
As per above consensus, please create two new user groups relating to the patrol system in the Hebrew Wikipedia.
Both user groups should be able to be given and removed by sysops.
1. The first user group will contain users who automaticly mark their own edits as patrolled. I beleived it is called "autopatrol". The Hebrew name should be "בדוק אוטומטית" (plural: "בדוקים אוטומטית").
2. The second user group will contain users who are able to mark other user's edit as patrolled and also view the unwatched pages list. I beleived it is called "patrol" and "unwatchedpages". The Hebrew name should be "מנטר" (plural: "מנטרים"). This user group should also have the "autopatrol" rights.

Thanks

Product/component tweak, +shell

Done. The groups are called 'patroller' and 'autopatroller', and their Hebrew
names can be configured at [[MediaWiki:Group-groupname]] (plural) and
[[MediaWiki:Group-groupname-member]] (singular). It seems the autopatroller
messages are already done (I think they're part of the WikimediaMessages
extension and get translated through TranslateWiki).

Thanks, but although I am a sysop in he.wiki, I can't add/removed the groups. Can you please give the rights to sysops?

Argh, missed that in the request. Done.

Thanks :-)

Another followup question: I can't find [[MediaWiki:Group-patroller]] and [[MediaWiki:Group-patroller-member]] in the messages list:

http://he.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%D7%9E%D7%99%D7%95%D7%97%D7%93%3A%D7%94%D7%95%D7%93%D7%A2%D7%95%D7%AA+%D7%94%D7%9E%D7%A2%D7%A8%D7%9B%D7%AA&prefix=group&filter=all&lang=he

I created the messages, but even so, not all places were translated. The two place I found were the user list special page:

http://he.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%D7%9E%D7%99%D7%95%D7%97%D7%93%3A%D7%A8%D7%A9%D7%99%D7%9E%D7%AA_%D7%9E%D7%A9%D7%AA%D7%9E%D7%A9%D7%99%D7%9D&username=&group=patroller&limit=100

(notice "patroller" remains untranlated in the list, but translated in the drop down menu).

and in my preferences, "Member of groups" field, the group name is trasnlated (as in [[MediaWiki:Group-patroller]]), but it doesnt have a link to the related policy page [[ויקיפדיה:מנטר]]. I couldn't find the place that defines this link.

Finally, the page [[מיוחד:רשימת מפעילים]] (literly: [[Special:Sysop list]] refers to the user list with sysops selected. The corresponding page [[מיוחד:רשימת מנטרים]] (literly: [[Special:Patroller list]] doesn't exist.

Thanks once more :-)

Yes, that's a weird thing that happens with custom groups.

You probably translated the message only after these log entries were made. Any new log entries should have the translated name.

Also, are you sure the autopatroller right is working correctly? some users who have the right don't mark their own edits as patrolled...

thanks once more :)
Comment 9 Roan Kattouw 2009-12-18 21:46:59 UTC
That was a typo on my part, fixed now.
